Trading Rules of Domestic Stocks

Trading of stocks was conducted all by manpower on market floor in the old days. Tokyo Stock Exchange (hereafter TSE) first introduced electrical trading system for some issues of TSE 2nd Section in January 1982. Since then, TSE had been expanding the trading system and trading floor was completely closed on April 30, 1999. After that, all regular trades of stocks are conducted through electrical trading system.

The current trading system is called arrowhead. Now there are more than 3,000 listed companies on TSE and the number of orders is tens of millions a day. All the huge number of transactions are dealt with arrowhead.
