In March 2020, Japan Exchange Group (JPX) and Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) released a “Practical Handbook for ESG Disclosure” to support listed companies’ voluntary disclosure of ESG-related information. This Handbook has now been announced as an honouree of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) ISAR Honours.
ISAR (the Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting) was established in 1982 by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) as the UN focal point on accounting and corporate governance, with UNCTAD as its secretariat. The ISAR Honours have been awarded every year since their inception in 2018, aiming to raise awareness and facilitate dissemination of national and international best practices on sustainability and SDG reporting.
JPX will continue to work towards the spread of ESG investment in Japan through support for listed companies’ ESG disclosure and other activities.
