Support for listed companies

To provide a reference guide for listed companies looking into ESG disclosure, Japan Exchange Group has published a Japanese translation of the Sustainable Stock Exchange (SSE) Initiative's "Model Guidance for Companies on Reporting on ESG Information".

Japan's Corporate Governance Code stipulates that listed companies should consider taking positive and proactive measures to address sustainability issues. As dialogue regarding ESG progressed, when the Code was revised in June 2018, it clarified that ESG issues should be included in "non-financial information" for reporting purposes.

The SSE's guidance provides companies with principles and points to consider when looking at ESG disclosure. We hope that by using this guidance, Japanese companies can improve their ESG disclosure and therefore become more attractive to investors.
