May. 8: Publication of JPX Working Paper on Machine Translation in CG Reports

JPX published JPX Working Paper, Vol.31 "Examination of Machine Translation in Corporate Governance Reports".
In this study, we sorted the problems in machine translation of Corporate Governance (CG) Reports and built a parallel corpus using existing CG Reports. Then, we created a custom translation model that applied domain adaptation to a general neural machine translation model and evaluated the translation quality to verify the possibility of adopting machine translation for CG Reports.
Our experiments con?rmed that BLEU scores increased by about 6 points when English translations of technical terms, proper nouns, and other expressions were modified.

May. 23: Revamp for JPX Academy Online Course on Asset Building

TSE provides information on financial literacy from an objective and specialized standpoint. The JPX Academy, which develops courses targeted at individuals, launched an online course (via DOCOMO gacco's platform) in FY2018 on how to manage personal finances deliberately and think about stable asset building under the motto of "shift from savings to asset building". The course attracted over 15,000 participants.
This year's newly revamped course opened on May 23 under a new motto of "2019's the time for asset building: More ease, more benefits!". Various improvements have been made to the course in response to user feedback. Each course module now features a Q&A section at the end to cover common inquiries received during FY2018, and 16 new topics have been added.
