Jul. 29, 2026 JPXI JPXI and QUICK to Jointly Operate “JPX–QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series”

JPX Market Innovation & Research, Inc. (JPXI) and QUICK Corp. hereby announce that they will jointly calculate and operate a series of indices that reflect the price movements of yen‑denominated spot crypto asset transactions conducted in Japan.

In Japan, over 14 million accounts have now been opened with crypto asset exchange service providers, and the balance of user deposits reached JPY 5 trillion last year. These developments indicate that crypto assets are increasingly being recognized as investment products in the domestic market.^*

Against this backdrop, JPXI and QUICK have leveraged the expertise of both companies to examine index design and operational frameworks that align with conditions in the domestic crypto asset market. We believe that making indices widely available that are calculated based on trade execution information from multiple domestic crypto asset exchange service providers will enable users to better understand market trends in Japan.

From today, the index currently calculated and published by QUICK as the “QUICK Bitcoin Index” will be renamed the “JPX–QUICK Bitcoin Index.” Related index documents and operational materials will also be published. In addition, the two companies will calculate and publish the “JPX-QUICK Ethereum Index.”

Background of QUICK’s Index Calculation

Based on discussions held by the “Crypto Asset Benchmark Study Group,” QUICK began trial calculation of the “QUICK Bitcoin Index” in April 2025.¹ Full-scale calculation commenced in December 2025, and the index has since been published on a daily basis.²

Operation of the JPX–QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series

To ensure fairness and transparency in index operations, we have established operational policies governing the calculation of the JPX–QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series.

Index Guidebook and Benchmark Exchanges for the JPX–QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series

We will publish the index guidebook for the JPX–QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series and the list of Benchmark Exchanges (meaning crypto asset exchange service providers deemed appropriate by the index calculator as data sources for index calculation).

Index Values of the JPX–QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series

Index values for the JPX–QUICK Bitcoin Index and JPX-QUICK Ethereum Index will be published on the QUICK website and through QUICK terminal services.
