Mar. 06, 2026  JPX Shows its Support for Ring the Bell for Gender Equality 2026

The UN has designated March 8 as International Women's Day, and every year on that day, exchanges around the world hold bell-ringing ceremonies to show their support for women’s active participation in society.

This year, Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (JPX) held a bell-ringing ceremony alongside the event's supporting organizations: the International Finance Corporation (IFC), UN Global Compact, UN Women, and Women in ETFs.

At this year's bell-ringing ceremony, Iwanaga Moriyuki, President and CEO of Tokyo Stock Exchange, delivered a welcome address. This was followed by keynote remarks by Kawamoto Yuko, President of the National Personnel Authority, and speeches by Yokoyama Tadashi, Director of the IFC Tokyo Office, and Yakiya Naoe, Director of the UN Women Japan Liaison Office. The bell-ringing was then performed by Tanaka Yayoi, Director at JPX, and distinguished guests from the supporting organizations attending the event.

A panel discussion was also held under the theme “The Value of Diversity: Perspectives on Investment, Policy, and Corporate Strategy.” Moderated by Takaba Minako, Co-Head of Women in ETFs Japan Chapter, a lively discussion was engaged in by the panelists: Ms. Kawamoto; Isozaki Yoshinori, Chair of the Board of the Global Compact Network Japan and Representative Director of the Board & CEO of Kirin Holdings Company, Limited; and Yoshida Masanori, Executive Officer at JPX.
