Oct. 02, 2025 OSE Notional Amount of Single Stock Options Trades in September 2025 Highest Since Market Integration

Osaka Exchange (OSE) is pleased to announce that the notional amount of trades in single stock options (SSOs) in September 2025 reached JPY 68.5 billion, marking the highest level since the integration of the derivatives markets of OSE and Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) in 2014.

SSOs Emerging as New Form of Stock Investment

In response to the demands of our investors and to further enhance the convenience of the SSO market, OSE expanded the number of SSOs eligible for market making from 12 to 32 (30 individual stocks and two ETFs) as of September 1, 2025.

This initiative, along with proactive quoting by market makers, has received widespread support from investors, leading to the record trading volume in September 2025. Helped by brisk trading in TSE's cash market, the SSO market is rapidly growing more liquid and lively, and this record demonstrates that SSOs are increasingly being recognized by investors as a "new form of stock investment."
