Feb. 06, 2026 OSE Single Stock Options Recorded All-Time Highs in Average Daily Notional Amount and End-of-Month Open Interest (January 2026)

Osaka Exchange, Inc. (OSE) is pleased to announce that the average daily notional amount and end-of-month open interest for Single Stock Options (SSOs) in January 2026 were approximately JPY 4.8 billion and 371,124 contracts respectively. Both figures marked the highest levels since the derivatives markets of OSE and Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) were integrated in 2014.

Trends in SSO Trading

Since the issues eligible for market making were expanded in September 2025, trading in SSOs has continued to increase. This trend has been driven by such factors as brisk trading in TSE’s equity market, an increase in investors who utilize listed companies’ earnings announcements and other investment materials in order to trade SSOs, and a wider range of investors trading SSOs.
