Commencement of clearing-related services for JGBCC

  • March 9, 2005 –Japan Securities Clearing Corporation (JSCC) has started providing Japan Government Bond Clearing Corporation* (JGBCC) with clearing-related services, including monitoring the financial status of JGBCC participants, which JSCC has already provided to JASDEC DVP Clearing Corporation (JDCC) since May 2004, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 11, 2004 between JSCC and JGBCC.
  • *  JGBCC, the clearing organization (CCP) for JGBs traded on the OTC market, was established in October 2003 and has been in developments for its operations from May 2005, subject to approval by the competent authorities.
  • Through collaborative relations with JGBCC and JDCC, JSCC now provides one-stop services for CCPs’ participants who submit financial reports to three CCPs, which makes their operations with the CCPs more convenient and also improves the efficiency of the CCPs’ operations.
  • As the leading clearing organization in Japan, JSCC continues to strive to improve Japan’s clearing and settlement infrastructure to fulfill the needs of market users.
