Aug. 12: Results of Surveys of Listed Companies and Institutional Investors
Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) announced the results of its surveys of listed companies and institutional investors.
In order to promote effective dialogue between listed companies and their investors, TSE surveyed listed companies about their expectations of and requests to investors. A total of 682 listed companies responded to the survey.
In its survey of institutional investors, TSE asked them about companies that have demonstrated meaningful progress in promoting management that is conscious of cost of capital and stock price. A total of 74 people at 43 institutional investors responded to the survey, and a total of 300 companies were evaluated.

Aug. 21: Establishment of Study Group on Developing the Growth Market
Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) established the "Study Group on Developing the Growth Market" in order to discuss what current and aspiring Growth Market listed companies should be like and the infrastructures that they need. The study group will be held on an ongoing basis, and Growth Market listed companies, not-yet listed startups, institutional investors, venture capitalists, and other startup stakeholders will be invited to participate.
On Aug. 21, the first study group held discussions primarily from the perspective of listed companies. On Sep. 16, the second study group will hold discussions primarily from the perspective of not-yet listed companies.
Aug. 28 and 29: JPX Holds Nikkei/TSE IR Fair 2026
Japan Exchange Group (JPX), in collaboration with Nikkei Inc., held the "Nikkei/TSE IR Fair 2026" at Tokyo Big Sight on August 28 and 29.
In addition to providing opportunities for dialogue between exhibitors and investors, the event featured presentations in the main hall, some of which were livestreamed and made available on demand. JPX also operated its own booth and conducted a series of mini seminars.
The event attracted more visitors than in the previous year, resulting in lively discussions throughout the venue.
Aug. 31: Publication of “JPX-R Annual Report 2026”
Japan Exchange Regulation (JPX-R) published “JPX-R Annual Report 2026,” which summarizes its functions, characteristics, and activities during the past year.
JPX-R’s mission as a self-regulatory organization is to carry out the self-regulatory operations of Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) and Osaka Exchange, Inc. (OSE) appropriately so that they can perform their societal role as Japan's leading financial instruments markets to the fullest, thereby ensuring and enhancing the credibility of the markets as well as their fairness and transparency.
This year's annual report includes various numerical data for FY2025 in addition to such topics as 1. Conducting Listing Examinations in Line With Changes in the Market and Social Environment, 2. Efforts to Ensure the Effectiveness of Listed Company Compliance Operations and Prevent Corporate Scandals, 3. Response to Market Violations and Other Responses, and 4. Response to Changes in the Market Environment and Efforts to Prevent Unfair Trading.
