Japan Exchange Regulation (JPX-R) published the "Handbook for Strengthening Internal Controls and Preventing Misconduct: Key Insights From Systematized Recurrence Prevention Measures" in January this year and has been promoting the handbook to listed companies to help prevent accounting fraud and other misconduct. In recognition of its initiatives relating to the handbook, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Japan (ACFE Japan) presented JPX-R with the ACFE JAPAN AWARD in the category of companies and organizations. JPX-R President Nakajima Junichi delivered a speech at the 17th ACFE JAPAN Conference. The ACFE JAPAN AWARD recognizes individuals, organizations and other entities that have achieved outstanding results in fraud prevention and highlights their achievements to a wider audience. At the conference, which brought together many professionals engaged in fraud prevention, JPX-R’s initiatives were featured.
The handbook was published with the aim of strengthening internal controls that support medium- to long-term corporate value improvement. It also provides useful guidance for companies that have not experienced misconduct. We encourage companies to make active use of the handbook to further strengthen their internal controls.
