Selection Criteria for RN Prime
- Largest stocks in terms of free-float adjusted market capitalization In regular reconfigurations, the Russell/Nomura Prime Index consists of the 1,000 largest stocks in terms of the float-adjusted market capitalization of the Russell/Nomura Total Market Index (RN Prime mother index), which covers more than 98% of the stocks listed on all markets in Japan.
- Negative list (exclusion of low liquidity stocks) restricts the inclusion of stocks with exceptionally low liquidity.
- Banding method (900-1,100 rule) limits frequent replacement of stocks owing to minor changes in market capitalization.
Regular reconfigurations
- Indexes are reconfigured once a year on the first business day in December.
