JPX’s direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) emissions are as follows (rounded to the nearest integer; the same applies below).

  • Calculated using the most recent Japan Ministry of the Environment’s Emissions Intensity Database for Calculating GHG Emissions in Supply Chains at the point of calculation each fiscal year.
  • Full Time Equivalent. Excludes secondees and others not directly employed by JPX.
  • The Scope 2 emissions shown above were calculated using the "market-based" method defined in the GHG Protocol. Emissions calculated using the "location-based" method were 9,973 t-CO2 in FY2022.

Emissions Reductions From the Use of Renewable Energy

The Group has begun gerenating renewable energy through the acquisition of solar power generation facilities that co-exist with agriculture on farmland and biomass power generation facilities that use discarded cooking oil for fuel, using proceeds from the green bond issued in June 2022.
