Mar. 18, 2020 TSE Risk disclosures regarding the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on business activities

 

Tokyo Stock Exchange Inc. (“TSE”) has notified listed companies about handling of timely disclosure of the effects of the novel coronavirus on business as follows.

The recent emergence and spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected economic activity on a global scale, and TSE understands that many companies have recognized it as a significant risk in their business operations.

On the other hand, domestic and foreign shareholders and investors are closely watching the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the business performance and business operations of listed companies, and expect listed companies to provide meaningful and substantial information proactively.

Although the outbreak is still continuing and it is difficult to forecast the outlook, we ask that you give due consideration to timely and appropriate disclosure to shareholders and investors, such as carefully considering disclosure of the risk information related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on the attachments to the financial report and quarterly financial report, prior to submission of securities reports.
