Educational Activities for Preventing Unfair Trading
Introduction to COMLEC
Japan Exchange Regulation (JPX-R) established COMLEC (Compliance Learning Center) to promote support for compliance activities by listed companies and trading participants. COMLEC endeavors to ensure fairness in the market by providing investors and other market users with opportunities for obtaining knowledge about laws and regulations concerning securities trading.
COMLEC Policy
COMLEC provides various learning and training services concerning compliance based on expertise thanks to JPX-R's proximity to the market.
The policy of COMLEC is as follows:
- COMLEC provides high quality learning and training contents with practical applications.
- COMLEC explains the contents of the latest laws and regulations as well as various related rules in an easily understandable manner.
- COMLEC provides learning and training tools tailored to the needs of individual users.
Origin of the COMLEC Logo
COMLEC's logo represents its efforts to cultivate and raise awareness of compliance to open the doors to a new era in compliance.
Internal Training Materials
We provide training materials that can be used for in-house training related to insider trading regulations. In addition to presentation slides, we also provide possible explanation scenarios for the trainer.
For Beginners: “What is insider trading?”
This material provides a brief summary of insider trading regulations in Japan without detailed explanation of the laws. It tries to meet the need of spreading caution not to make insider trading within companies, even though expert knowledge is not needed. Besides slides, we also provide script for lecturers to read. Please feel free to use these materials for internal education. (Duration: Approx. 20 minutes)

For Intermediates: "Outline of insider trading"
This training material explains the insider trading in an easy-to-understand manner. We outline the insider trading regulation up to page 10 and the common traps based on the case studies from page 11 onwards. Please use the necessary parts of the training materials per your preference, such as only the first half, the second half, or throughout the whole. In addition to slides, scenarios explaining the slides are also posted. Please feel free to use these materials for internal education. (Duration: Approx. 15 minutes for the first half, 10 minutes for the second half)

Introduction to Insider Trading Regulations for Listed Company Officers and Employees
This pamphlet provides an overview of the regulations in plain language so that officers and employees of listed companies can trade the company's shares with an appropriate understanding of the regulations.
