Progress in Standardization to 100-Share Trading Units (announced on Apr. 24, 2015)

Tokyo Stock Exchange ("TSE") announced the progress of the transition of listed companies during the transition period for the standardization to 100-share trading units, which began on April 1, 2014.

Partial Amendments to Securities Listing Regulations, etc. for Standardization of Trading Units (announced on June 26, 2014)

TSE revised some of its listing rules to facilitate the reduction of the Trading Unit, in addition to requiring that the trading unit be 100 shares as a requirement for partial designation and section transfers toward the ultimate goal of the Action Plan for the Standardization of Trading Units, which is to be standardized to 100-share trading units.

End of the Period of Consolidation to Two Types of Trading Units (100 Shares and 1,000 Shares) and Start of the Transition Period for the Standardization to 100 Shares (announced on Mar. 17, 2014)

Stock exchanges in Japan jointly announced that the consolidation period to the two types of trading units (100 and 1,000 shares) was completed on April 1, 2014, and that a transition period will now begin for the standardization of the two trading units to 100 shares.

Stock exchanges in Japan jointly announced that the deadline for the standardization to 100 and 1,000 shares, which was postponed for the time being in light of the effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake and other factors, will be April 1, 2014.

Postponement of Deadline for Transition to Trading Units of 100 and 1,000 Shares (announced on Apr. 28, 2011)

Request for Standardization of Trading Units (announced on Nov. 24, 2010)

On November 24, 2010, TSE requested listed companies that do not currently have a trading unit of 100 or 1,000 shares to confirm the purpose and content of the action plan and to complete the adoption of the share trading unit system or change the number of shares per trading unit within the transition period targeted for April 2012.

Stock exchanges in Japan jointly announced that while the ultimate goal is to standardize the trading unit of common stocks of domestic companies to 100 shares, the immediate goal is to consolidate it into two types, 100 shares and 1,000 shares, as soon as possible after the dematerialization of share certificates in order to quickly realize improved convenience.
